Listed as Anna M. S. Bjerregaard of Ephraim, Utah died at
87years in the Salt Lake Tribune and Deseret News papers. She
died of old age and was listed as Ephraim oldest resident at
the time. She came to New York, USA with her parents by way of
Hamburg, Germany on the square rigger "The Humbolt" in April

captain on the ship was Hansen.
The plains company captain was Murdock. 14 of the

across the plains in her wooden shoes behind an oxen team at
the age of 11. She helped make adobes for houses and the first
home they had in the new world was a cellar, the roof was made
of willows and straw.
The light at night was by fireplace. Many times they ate
sego lilies and wild berries. They made their own clothes,
which were scant and hung like sacks on them. She became a
citizen in 1870. She was married in Manti, UT. and born in
Copenhagen, Fyn, Nieberg, Denmark. She was a housewife,
petite, well groomed, dark brown hair, grey or blue eyes, tiny
waist. Her granddaughter Helen remembers her as always wearing
a black dress with white lace collar and cuffs, and white
apron, both ankle length.
When married she lived in the small two story house on the
